Twins in Paradise 11/5/25
This drawing is from a frame in a short film posted to YouTube. The creator goes by the name “Vewn”, though her real name is Victoria Vincent. She’s been posting short films since 2016, and still continues today. I stumbled upon one her videos when I was around 15, and I was immediately hooked. I then watched all of her videos within the next day. I think her style of drawing is incredibly unique and beautiful. The colors she chooses are vibrant, her landscapes are slightly abstracted, and her characters are very detailed. Her story lines are also very interesting, with a lot of thought put into them. They often make you ponder and search for deeper meanings. After finding Vewn, her animations inspired my own work in ceramics and painting. I began experimenting more with colors and abstraction, often having her work in the back of my mind. The picture I provided is a frame from her animation, “Twins in Paradise”, about two sisters who are caught between the pressures of being tennis champions, as well as the troubles of the world around them. I would highly recommend watching a few of her videos.
