Stained Glass 8/31/25

This summer I had the opportunity to travel around Spain and one of my stops included the Barcelona Cathedral. While not being raised or having ties to the catholic faith, I still couldn’t help but appreciate and feel deeply about the extraordinary art throughout the cathedral. It’s always a surprise to see the tons of ornate pieces that seem impossible to create at the time, intertwined through such an old building. It’s extremely inspiring to see so many beautiful pieces from such a long time ago. It makes me think of the artists that must have spent endless hours with limited technology to achieve pieces close to perfection. I can appreciate the dedication to their craft and it makes me want to hone in on my own craft towards art and be a more skillful artist overall. I like this stained glass piece specifically, mostly because of the colors used. The different shades of brilliant blue are so striking and pretty to me that I could see myself creating art with the inspiration from this stained glass in the back of my head. Overall, this is the piece that struck me the most throughout the cathedral.
